Let’s talk about Tinted Moisturizers…

I thought I would be able to make a simple video talking about a few new tinted moisturizers that I am liking, but, after digging thru my stash, I knew that wasn’t possible. See, I have a tinted moisturizer habit. I have lots of them, some I am sure I overlooked in my stuff, but I use different ones for different things.

Let’s talk about the ones I pulled out tonight:

I think I’ll start talking about these in separate, individual posts, and include ones that I may have missed this go-round. Products mentioned in this video:

MAC Prep + Prime BB Beauty Balm – $30

MAC Studio Moisture Tint – $29.50

boscia B.B. Cream – $38

Bobbi Brown SPF 15 Tinted Moisturizer – $40

BECCA Luminous Skin Colour – $42

American Beauty Youth-Full Sheer Color Tinted Moisturizer SPF 15 – $25

Clinique Moisture Sheer Tint – $27

Miracle Skin Transformer Treat & Conceal – $36

CoverFX Skintint FX – $42

JOUER Luminizing Moisture Tint – $38

e.l.f. Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 – $3

Milani Tinted Moisturizer – Uhm, oops! Apparently this is discontinued. I saw that it *can* be located on ebay, but by now it’s old enough that we should all get rid of our tubes. My bad, sorry for mentioning it! icon sad Lets talk about Tinted Moisturizers...

Are you tinted moisturizer fans? Have I missed one of your favorites? Let me know what you are using, in case I overlooked it in my stash or I need to hunt it down new.

*Disclaimer: I purchased the e.l.f. and Milani, and received the other products from their PR for editorial consideration.

My absolute favorite TM is Laura Mercier’s it makes my skin absolutely flawless. It’s just the right amount of coverage for me.

The one time I tried LM’s TM, it was too luminizing for me, but I think I need to revisit it, as I hear so many others’ love it, too.

I just found your web-site – I have found that the older I get (46) the less absorbant my skin is.  That is what originally drove me to use tinted moisturizer.  I use the Oil of Olay brand which is now part of their Definity line.  Have you already used it and ruled it out?  I like it but it is the only one that I have tried and am open to suggestions.  Also any tips on what I need to do to make my skin more absorbant would be appreciated as well.  However, I realize that that ship may have sailed.  Thanks!

I haven’t tried that one – I’ll have to look it up. And the first and foremost thing I would tell you to make your skin more absorbant is to *exfoliate*! The more dead skin you remove, the easier it is for your moisturizer to help your good skin – it has less to get thru to absorb. Meredith & I did a podcast on “It’s Just Lipstick” talking about exfoliation – give it a listen to get some ideas about what you could try. Let me know how your skin acts in a few weeks after you start! :)
