With Memorial Day just past, we are now officially in the Summer season. So, in this edition of “Makeup Wars”, we are discussing our favorite sunscreens. Now, we all know that I tend to make sure that most of the products I use contain SPF, because this pale, freckled skin isn’t going to keep itself looking like this on its own, that’s for sure. Because of that, I didn’t really include any of those products, like moisturizers, but just the products that I tend to use for its sunscreen properties on their own.

Coola Sport SPF 35 Citrus Mimosa Sunscreen Spray: Scent is a HUGE part of sunscreen to me. I swear, it goes back to growing up and smelling the Coppertone Coconut Oil wafting by the pools growing up, all SPF 4 of it! And not only does this smell like yummy citrus, it is actually good for you. It “will also nourish, repair and hydrate skin with 97% certified organic ingredients like Cucumber, Algae and Strawberry Extracts; and Red Raspberry Seed Oil, a natural sunscreen and anti-inflammatory rich in Omega-3 and 6″. Ridiculous, right? And it sprays really well, too.

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 100+: Is SPF 100+ overkill? Yes. Do we know that anything over SPF 35 is not any more effective? Yes. Does seeing the SPF so high help me mentally think that I am doing an amazing thing? Yes. And that is why I use this one. Plus, the ultra-sheer factor really does help this absorb super quick so it doesn’t feel like it is just sitting on my face. I will wear this on the days that I won’t be wearing any makeup and will be out in the sun. Roasting.

Mario Badescu Lip Wax SPF 15: I know I have told you about my love for this lip balm before. It’s my holy grail lip saver, and the SPF makes it a necessity in the summer months when I venture outside.

Dr. Denese SPF 20 Defense Day Lip Veil: Sometimes, I need to have a bit of a shine on my lips, but still protect them. That is when I will whip out my Dr. D Lip Veil – this is a high shine gloss (*that tastes good), and still protects with a SPF 20. I’m pretty sure that this is discontinued on the Dr. D site, but you can still find it around. It doesn’t take much for glossy coverage.

So, what do you use for sunscreen? Are you a spray or lotion user? Let me know below and then check out the sunscreen favorites from the other ladies:

I had no clue Neutrogena made an SPF so high! I’ll be looking for this the next time I go to the store.

I like spray sunscreens because I am a lazy bum and they are so easy! If one smells good too, thats an extra bonus!

Love, love, love the Neutrogena! And The Coola is pretty fabulous as well. I had the pina colada scent, and I miss it. Must repurchase!

I need to try the Mario Badescu!

These are great options! I love both lotion and spray sunscreens. I always use lotion before the pool or beach. However, for reapplication, I prefer a spray.

I use the Neutrogena Ultra Sheer quite a bit myself. It is one of my drugstore favorites.

I totally agree on the Neutrogena sunscreen and I need to try the Coola one just for the citrus scent!
