Stylist Riawna Capri, of Nine Zero One Salon, created the hair look for Nina Dobrev at the 2013 Golden Globes. Her inspiration: “Nina’s dress was very feminine so we wanted to compliment to the look with her hair.” Make it “sweet and polished with a unique twist”.

1.)    In order to smooth Nina’s hair and add shine, her hair was prepped with U LUXURY Shampoo and Conditioner, which are infused with crushed pearl, Hawaiian white honey and Argan oil. Next, Riawna used UNITE 7SECONDS Conditioner to detangle condition and protect hair.

2.)    Next, she blow-dried hair using the UNITE 9-Row Denman Brush to smooth the cuticle of her hair.

3.)    Nina then flipped her head upside down while Riawna completed a classic braid from the nape to the crown of her head.

4.)    All remaining hair was pulled up into a ponytail.

5.)    UNITE BEACH DAY Spray was spritzed throughout the dry ponytail to add density to the hair.

6.)    The hair was wrapped and pinned into a classic bun.

7.)    The final look was held in place using UNITE GO365 Hairspray and polished off with UNITE SHINA-Mist.

Prep skin with VS PRO Airbrush FX Bronzing Primer for a natural, all-over glow.

Lightly dust VS PRO Flawless FX Translucent Finishing Powder over entire face for a flawless finish.

For touchups, dab VS PRO Anti-Shine FX Oil-Free Mattifier on high-shine areas, like the center of the forehead, nose and chin.

Before applying eye shadow, prep lids with VS PRO Lasting FX Eye Shadow Primer to create a smooth and long-lasting base.

Hide dark shadows under eyes with VS PRO Camouflage FX Universal Concealer Palette. Apply VS PRO Light FX HD Eye Brightening Pen around the entire eye area and blend up into cheekbones to lighten and brighten dark shadows and conceal fine lines.

Using VS Makeup Eye Shadow Quad in “Eye Contact”, apply the lid color all over lids, blending up into the crease and out towards the outer corner of the eye.  Use the same color under the bottom lashes. Apply the highlight color under the brow bone and add a touch to the inner corners to open the eyes.

Define upper and lower lashlines with VS Makeup Precision Liquid Liner in “Black”, exaggerating the outer edges for an eye-opening effect.

Using VS Makeup Brow Pencil and Brush Duo in “Brunette”, fill in brows for extra definition.

Finish with two coats of VS Makeup Volume Lift Mascara in “Black”.

Apply VS Makeup Luminous Mineral Blush Duo in “Meet Up” to apples of cheeks for a sexy flush.

Prep lips with VS PRO Pout FX Lip Primer and Definer. Complete the red carpet look with a swipe of VS Makeup Color Drama Lipstick in “Intensity”.

Prep skin with VS PRO Airbrush FX Oil-Free Face Primer to give skin a smooth canvas to apply makeup. Then, with a flat foundation brush, apply foundation in broad sections over face and neck and blend with water moistened beauty sponge.

Lightly dust VS PRO Flawless FX Translucent Finishing Powder over entire face for a flawless finish.

Brush VS PRO Light FX Eye-Brightening Pen on the concave area under the eye and then blend and set using your ring finger in a tapping motion and also brush along the length of nose.

For glowing skin and added dimension, shade VS Makeup Pressed Mineral Bronzing Powder in “Bronze Ambition” just slightly above the concave of the cheekbone and softly dust under chin, jaw and along her hairline. Last, apply VS Makeup Baked Mineral Bronzing Powder in “Goddess” on temples and up high on the outer cheeks to add a luminous, bronze glow.

Use VS Makeup Eye Shadow Quad in “Eye Contact” and dust the highlight color all over eye area up to brow bone and then accentuate the crease using the crease shadow. Sweep on the golden bronze shade all over the lid and use the crease shade along the outer part of the lash line. For some extra warmth, add the base shade all along the lower lash line.

Using VS Makeup Kajal Liner in “Black Magic”, draw along the outer upper lash line and then smudge the line to add soft, subtle dimension.

Last, apply two coats of VS Makeup Extra Lengthening Mascara in “Blackest Black” on the upper and lower lashes, using brush vertically first to really enhance the inner corner lashes.

Apply VS Makeup Luminous Mineral Blush Duo in “Starlet” to the apples of the cheeks to give a flushed glow.

Prep lips with VS PRO Pout FX Lip Primer & Definer to keep the lip liner and color in place.

Line lips with VS Makeup Lip Liner in “Blushing Nude”.

Pat on VS Makeup Color Drama Lipstick in “Pulse” with her fingertip to add a stain of color to the lip.

Finish with VS Makeup Brilliant Lip Shine Extreme in “Sunset Strip” for pretty, shimmery pout.

Connie Britton’s Hair at the 2013 Golden Globes

Any chance I have to talk about the wonder that is Connie Britton’s hair, I will take it. And, I am not the only one that adores her hair – there is even a site devoted to it – Connie Britton’s Hair.

Anyway, when I heard that one of my haircare faves, Leonor Greyl played a part in making it gorgeous for the 2013 Golden Globes, I wanted all the details!

Connie Britton Hair Golden Globes 2013

Celebrity hairstylist Rod Ortega created Connie Britton’s classic 1940’s old Hollywood look for the 2013 Golden Globes.“For Connie’s Golden Globes look tonight the inspiration was Rita Hayworth in ‘Gilda’.” To start off, Rod dampened Connie’s hair and prepped it with Leonor Greyl’s Serum de Soie Sublimateur on the ends, and then on the roots he applied Leonor Greyl’s Mousse au Lotus Volumatrice. He used both of these products together to guarantee healthy, high shine, and movable hair through the evening.

Rod then began blow drying the hair with a round boar brush, smoothing out the hair and finished drying it. Before using a heat styling tool, he recommends using Leonor Greyl’s Spray Structure Naturelle. “This setting spray is very important because it’s going to give the hold for the style.” Using a 1-inch curling iron and setting the hair with the setting spray, he let Connie’s hair cool and brushed the waves out with a large paddle brush into beautiful, shiny waves. He then secured the waves with Leonor Greyl’s Lacque Souple, a couple of pumps of the Leonor Greyl Spray Structure Naturelle… “and voila, you have a finished red carpet look!”.

Are you a fan of Connie Britton’s hair, too?
