Backstage at the Naeem Khan Fall/Winter 2012 show – Makeup

This season I had the pleasure of going backstage at “Naeem Khan” and chat with NARS Director of Global Artistry, James Boehmer, about the look for the Fall/Winter 2012 fashion show.

He said the look was inspired by 60′s Italian Bombshells, but more modern, not retro at all. They played with the shape of the eyeliner, not going all the way out to the corner before angling up. They also kept the skin luminous with the new Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer. And on the lips they used a Velvet Gloss Lip Pencil color that is coming out this Fall called “More”.

Backstage at the Badgley Mischka Fall/Winter 2012 show – Hair

This season I was able to go backstage the “Badgley Mischka” show and talk to hairstylist Peter Gray, for MoroccanOil, about the look of the hair for the Fall/Winter 2012 show.

He said the look came from the movie “Metropolis”, whose lead character is a lady with a granny haircut, that is very fuzzy and she looks “demonic and crazy”. He thought that that look would work really well with the hard angles of the clothing collection that season.

This season I was able to go backstage the “Badgley Mischka” show and talk to makeup artist Tom Pecheux, for MAC, about the look for the Fall/Winter 2012 fashion show.

He told me that they wanted to go for a “sophisticated, gothic, twisted woman, but quite super chic at the same time” look. He went with a matte finish face and both strong matte eyes and lips.

Backstage at the Badgley Mishka Fall/Winter 2012 show – Nails

This season I was able to go backstage the “Badgley Mischka” show and chat with Deborah Lippmann about the nails for the Fall/Winter 2012 show.

She said that the overall show was inspired by the movie “Metropolis”, so the look was very dark. So, they went with using a dark aubergine called “Dark Side of the Moon” for the base color, and for texture on the tips they used a gold called “Nefertiti”. She also gives a great tip to do your own french style manicure at home, too:

Backstage at the Tracy Reese Fall/Winter 2012 show – Makeup

I do not hide my fangirl love for Mally Roncal in the least. So it should come as no surprise how much I enjoy getting to go backstage at Tracy Reese shows and talk to her. This season I was greeted by Mally’s right-hand MUA, Albee Franson with a big hug and the exclamation that my eyes were great & exactly what was being done for the models in Tracy’s show, “somebody must have leaked”. LOL! It made me feel great that my lazy day eyes of only bright eyeliner and mascara were on point!

Mally told us (*with her hilarious NSFW potty mouth, that she controls so well on QVC!) that the look for the Fall/Winter 2012 show was flawless skin (*of course), super highlighted cheeks with lightly bronzed face, super full brows and with a rosy-ish lip. The liner was a pencil, super fast and easy to look “like you did it yourself”.
