Pledge to “Fight The Powder” with Mally Beauty

Pledge to Fight The Powder with Mally BeautyYou guys know I have been PREACHING to you about the wonders of the Mally Beauty Poreless Face Defender for almost 2 years now. And I’ve convinced several of you (*Retrodiva) to give up the powder and make the switch. But for those of you that are still on the fence about it (*how could you be?!?), I have a couple of opportunities for you to try to check it out.

For those of you lovelies in NYC on Tuesday, May 8th, Mally and her “Fight The Powder” team will be outside Grand Central Station during rush hour (6:30AM – 9:30AM and 4pm – 7pm) to give the first 50 women who take the pledge to give up their powder a Face Defender, with a pink mirror that has a QR code that will link to a video with exclusive tips & discounts from Mally.

And for those of you not in NYC, you can sign the pledge on the Mally Beauty Facebook page for a chance to be one of 10 weekly winners of a Face Defender, and maybe even the Grand Prize winner of a 30min Skype session with Mally & the products she rec’s for the winner in the chat. (*This promotion goes on until June 7th).

So, have I convinced you to make the switch? I would love to know if you have or if you are going to make the pledge.

Mally Beauty QVC TSV 9/23/2011 – “Defend Your Beauty”

As you guys know from twitter, on my last day in NYC last week I attended a breakfast hosted by Mally Beauty herself, Mally Roncal. Now, I am an unabashedly vocal fangirl, so, this was a great treat for me. Not only get I get to chat with Mally, I got to see her demo some great techniques & talk about some new product launches. But, I’ll save most of that for another post and show you the ridiculous amount of goodies I was able to bring home to try out and tell you all about, too, courtesy of Mally & her PR team.

But what I want to tell you about first is that today, Sept 23, 2011, Mally is the “Today’s Special Value” on QVC, with her “Defend Your Beauty” 7pc kit. This kit was one of the things I brought home, so I wanted to show you some pics to help you decide if the kit is right for you.

photo e1316805986611 224x300 Mally Beauty QVC TSV 9/23/2011 Defend Your BeautyThe kit includes:

  • 0.12 oz Volumizing Lip Gloss in Flirty (a golden-pink shade)–Exclusive to QVC until 3/23/12
  • 0.01 oz Evercolor Automatic Eyeliner in Black Cherry (a deep black plum shade)–Exclusive to QVC until 3/23/12
  • 0.21 oz Face Defender Highlighter in Gorgois Glow (a champagne shade) –Exclusive to QVC until 3/23/12
  • 0.21 oz Face Defender Blush in Pink Perfection (a pink shade)
  • 0.41 oz Face Defender in Clear
  • 0.06 oz Evercolor Shadow Stick in Violet (a purple shade)
  • 0.39 fl oz Volumizing Mascara in Black
  • Sponge
  • Bag
  • close up kit e1316806179386 224x300 Mally Beauty QVC TSV 9/23/2011 Defend Your BeautyWhen you look a little closer at the products you might be a bit worried about the colors – don’t be. I can tell you that the gold in the Volumizing Lip Gloss gives just a hint of sparkle and doesn’t overwhelming make you look all OG (*over-gold). The blush looks bright, but it really does blend down to a pretty natural flush color & the hightlighter just gives you a bit of glow, not glowY, if you know what I mean. Of course you know that the Face Defender is colorless because you remember reading about my love for it here, right?

swatches e1316806650278 224x300 Mally Beauty QVC TSV 9/23/2011 Defend Your BeautyYou know what? Why don’t I just show you what I mean with the colors. The hightlighter on the far right just glows. I applied the blush very heavy at the bottom so you can see how I blended it in up top. I put the gloss on heavy so that you can see the barely there gold & the also the pink color. And you can see how nicely the Violet shadow stick works with the Black Cherry Liner. Now, this is on my pale skin, applied heavily – your results will vary depending on how heavy-handed you are on application.

So, what do you think? Are you going to make the call and pick up a kit for yourself? Let me know if you do – I wanna know what you think about the colors, too!

*UPDATE* Just to let you know that this kit is regularly available on QVC, and was not just a One Time Special Value!

Beauty bloggers helping "Doctors Without Borders"

This past Friday, the lovely Karla, from KarlaSugar.net, and I were interviewed by the local OKC Fox Affliate, KOKH Fox 25, about Karla’s charity brainchild – BeautyBloggers.org

(*You can check out our video HERE. As they uploaded it as a flash file, I can’t embed it here.)

Here is the official “About” info on the auction/idea:

BeautyBloggers.org is the collaboration of almost 50 different beauty bloggers and brands. In the spirit of the holidays, we wanted to make a meaningful contribution to charity — knowing that the most effective donation to any charity is cash.So we’re putting our makeup on the auction block. Winning bids will be donated directly to Doctors Without Borders. We’re raising money for Doctors Without Borders because women are always disproportionately affected in any disaster. This organization is committed to bringing quality medical care to people in crisis, regardless of race, religion, or political affiliation. They treat rape victims in Papua New Guinea; they make sure women don’t die in childbirth in Pakistan; they helped flood victims in Mexico and earthquake victims in Haiti. They work in 65 countries around the world, and your donation will make an immediate impact. Click here to learn more about MSF

I’ll just say that I am excited to be a part of this auction & that I was able to be interviewed, along with Karla, to help bring awareness to this great idea. So you know, I donated a Mally Beauty “Rise and Shine 9-piece Long Wear Brightening Collection” that I paid for myself. It’s no longer available on QVC, so this would be a great way to get started with Mally products, if I haven’t already convinced you before now. icon wink Beauty bloggers helping "Doctors Without Borders"

BUT!! *TODAY* is the LAST day of the auction – it ends at *5PM CST*. Now, I know most of you are auction snipers, waiting till the last bit to snatch up that great deal, so this post comes at the right time for you. Get over there and get to bidding! Seriously – you won’t believe the hard to find/cult/LE/Europe only pieces that are available in this thing! And, after you win – come back and tell me what you got!! icon smile Beauty bloggers helping "Doctors Without Borders"
