Let’s talk about Tinted Moisturizers…

I thought I would be able to make a simple video talking about a few new tinted moisturizers that I am liking, but, after digging thru my stash, I knew that wasn’t possible. See, I have a tinted moisturizer habit. I have lots of them, some I am sure I overlooked in my stuff, but I use different ones for different things.

Let’s talk about the ones I pulled out tonight:

I think I’ll start talking about these in separate, individual posts, and include ones that I may have missed this go-round. Products mentioned in this video:

MAC Prep + Prime BB Beauty Balm – $30

MAC Studio Moisture Tint – $29.50

boscia B.B. Cream – $38

Bobbi Brown SPF 15 Tinted Moisturizer – $40

BECCA Luminous Skin Colour – $42

American Beauty Youth-Full Sheer Color Tinted Moisturizer SPF 15 – $25

Clinique Moisture Sheer Tint – $27

Miracle Skin Transformer Treat & Conceal – $36

CoverFX Skintint FX – $42

JOUER Luminizing Moisture Tint – $38

e.l.f. Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 – $3

Milani Tinted Moisturizer – Uhm, oops! Apparently this is discontinued. I saw that it *can* be located on ebay, but by now it’s old enough that we should all get rid of our tubes. My bad, sorry for mentioning it! icon sad Lets talk about Tinted Moisturizers...

Are you tinted moisturizer fans? Have I missed one of your favorites? Let me know what you are using, in case I overlooked it in my stash or I need to hunt it down new.

*Disclaimer: I purchased the e.l.f. and Milani, and received the other products from their PR for editorial consideration.

I have a lemming: Becca Professional Brush Soap

Professional Brush Soap 300x300 I have a lemming: Becca Professional Brush SoapYou guys – I’ve got a new product I am lemming and I entirely blame Karen at Makeup and Beauty Blog, as I do for many of my lusts. After reading her post about the “Becca Professional Brush Soap” I knew I wanted this – badly.

See, I *may* not be the most diligent person when it comes to cleaning my brushes. Now, I’m not going to confirm nor deny that I do not do this chore daily, but you can probably hazard a really good guess. So when I saw this insanely easy, yet efficient, way to clean my brushes I knew I wanted it. Unfortunately, it is “OUT OF STOCK” online. Of course it is.

So, seeing as there is not an outlet for Becca cosmetics in Oklahoma right now (*until Trichology gets their beauty bar up and going), I guess I am going to have to wait and try to snag some at The Makeup Show in NYC next month.

Have you guys tried this brush cleaner? If not, what do you use? I’m not even going to ask you how often you clean your brushes, because I’m certain you all do it daily, right? icon wink I have a lemming: Becca Professional Brush Soap

The Makeup Show – Blogger Preview

On Saturday, May 16th, I was one of a lucky couple dozen beauty bloggers invited to a preview of The Makeup Show, a makeup trade show of some of the most influential cosmetic companies to date, put on by The Powder Group. The Makeup Show Blogger Preview We were greeted with wine, cheese, crackers and fruit for a bit of snack and an informal meet and greet. (Which I apparently sucked at since I didn’t meet Miss Dina from eye4style until I was leaving and she came up to me. Ha!)

Once we were all gathered, The Powder Group founder Michael DeVellis welcomed us and told us just how important and vital that us, as beauty bloggers, are to promotion nowadays. You could really tell by his enthusiasm and sincerity that he truly believes that we are the way of things to come in how information is put out there – esp since we have a passion for product and not just the freebies.

He then handed us over to the fabulous makeup artist, James Vincent. His work has been everywhere – and don’t even get him started on American Idol or ANTM, please. He was a great tour guide thru the aisles, as he had something generous to say about each of the vendors and gave us his recommendations for his secret weapons from each one that he carries in his kit. (*Funny story – he knows a local makeup line – t.a.l.k. beauty, that was started by 4 friends in Oklahoma City, who work/spend time around a local beauty store called The Makeup Bar, where I have been known to drop a penny or two. James knows Alex over there, was curious if she was coming to the show. Well, I have @themakeupbar on twitter and sent her a message for him. Teeny tiny world we live in, eh?)
I’ll just show a few of the vendors we got to see this day, with a few pics for now, as I will go a bit more in depth on a few of them when I post about what I saw the actual day of the show.

We were also introduced to Emmy Award winning makeup artist, Kevin Bennett, who is the Director of Artist Relations for Make Up For Ever. MUFE is celebrating their 25th Anniversary and Kevin was there to debut their new HD concealer. (*Remind me to tell you how we *really* met – LOL)

There were also two other great companies represented at the show – Stila Cosmetics and Smashbox Cosmetics. At the Stila booth, was VP of Global Sales, Artistry & International Marketing, Desiree Tordecilla, who was kind enough to clear up a little bit about the Stila closure in March and present us the Stila Summer ’09 24K Gold Collection:

The Makeup Show Blogger PreviewI have so much more to say about Desi and Stila, but I will save it for my Stila specific post.
And, at the Smashbox booth was the fab Ms. Lori Taylor, Professional Artistry Relations Manager. She was so great and knowledgeable about what works, she was just a joy to talk to.
The Makeup Show Blogger PreviewShe gave a presentation at the show on needed basics, and wore some *fierce* shoes – I’ll have to show you that, too.
These lovely ladies were sweet enough to stop and take a picture with me, as I had to leave the preview early:

The Makeup Show Blogger PreviewSeriously, just how freakin’ awesome was that? Thank you so much, ladies!

And, since I had to leave early, I didn’t get to meet everyone at the p
review, but I def made up for it when I attended the actual show the next day. I want to take a second and thank everyone at The Powder Group for a really enjoyable afternoon. I really liked getting a “Behind the Scenes” peek at the show.
