Foreign Beauty Friday: Bioderma Matriciane Serum

*I am lucky enough to know people overseas that send me things. I also have friends and family that travel, so I harrass them make sure they bring me back goodies.

Remember yesterday when I talking about cleansing waters and I reminded you guys of my romance with my Bioderma cleansing water? Well, I thought I would let you know that they also have a vast skincare line, too.

This little French beauty says that it “restores the metabolic cycles of the skin, and revitalises it each day with new energy”. Hell, I need to put this all over my body, so that I can get up every day if it can work that miracle, right?

Here’s another thing I like about this serum. It specifically states that it “accompanies and optimises the effectiveness” of aesthetic procedures, ie., peels, injections and lasers. So *that’s* how those French beauties stay so lovely… icon wink Foreign Beauty Friday: Bioderma Matriciane Serum 6815094371 903e9cde66 b Foreign Beauty Friday: Bioderma Matriciane Serum

NARS and MAC Cleansing Waters

Now, you guys know that I am lazy really like cleansing waters. I have raved about my beloved Bioderma on here before. And I’ve even talked about them when I made a video about cleansing and on the “It’s Just Lipstick” podcast. Get it? I like cleansing waters.

6808098633 9d1bbccfab NARS and MAC Cleansing WatersHowever, the downside has always been the availability factor and the lack thereof. You just couldn’t get it locally on a whim. But that has now changed with the release of the MAC Charged Water Cleanser and the NARS Makeup Removing Water.

Both of these cleansers are clear, except MAC has a tint of blue, but not noticeably on the cotton round. They are mostly odorless and tasteless – there is a hint of something that distinguishes it from water, but nothing really perceptible. And they both work really well in removing makeup.

Now, I can’t speak to how they remove waterproof mascara, since I don’t wear it to try it out, but it did remove my regular makeup like a breeze. The main difference that I see is in the bottling – the NARS comes in a 6.7oz squeezable bottle and the MAC comes in a 3.4oz shakeable bottle. I’m used to squeezing to get my cotton round soaked, but, yes that can be wasteful, so some may appreciate the ability to regulate just how much you get out at one time from the MAC bottle. I really feel like this may come down to a brand preference for some.

Both are on counters now. The MAC runs $23USD and the NARS runs $28USD.

What say you – have you tried cleansing waters? Are you more likely to try one now that brands you recognize locally are making them?

*Disclaimer: I received this product from the company’s PR for editorial consideration.

Pretend French Vacay, Pt. 3: A brush with greatness

Every time I go on vacay to some place busy and popular, I always hope to spot a celebrity (*be aware, my definition of celebrity is *very* loose). Very rarely has this ever happened. But, sometimes it *does* (*How you doin’, Harold?). Usually its a case of hearing other people’s brushes with fame.

Pretend French Vacay, Pt. 3: A brush with greatness

On this part of our Pretend French Vacay the closest we are going to come to a celeb is in a makeup artist’s kit. In my Christmas Paris pack was a bottle of MUA’s fav, Bioderma Sensibo (*previously Cr`ealine) – a cleansing water that takes almost all makeup, including waterproof, except for the hardcore not going anywhere makeup that you would use an oil based cleanser on anyway. (*Yep, I talked about a different cleansing water yesterday when I talked about the Nuxe Cleansing Water with 3 Roses. Are you seeing a pattern here? I want the most effective cleansing method with the least amount of effort – some may call that lazy, I call it maximizing my…yeah, I’m lazy.)

When I say you will find this in most MUA’s kits, I’m not playing – this has truly reached cult status. It is famously used by MUA’s during Fashion Weeks, where the models are going from show to show, changing makeup each time & in trying not to tear up the models faces by the scrubbing off of the makeup, they use this gentle, but effective, cleanser to calm and clean the face. This particular line of Sensibio is Bioderma’s “Sensitive Skin” line – which is specifically for the dry, red, itchy skin that needs some extra gentle TLC. They also have lines for Oily/Combination skin, Irritated/Damaged skin and even a line for baby skin, among others.

So, while we may not see any celebs on our Pretend Vacay, we can at least feel like a celeb by using what is used on them with this – without having to deal with the paparazzi. Ha! Have you guys tried this, or any other cleansing waters? If so, lemme know what you think about them. I’d like to know if I’m the only one that is lazy, yet somewhat effective, in their cleansing at the end of the day.
(*I just remembered I had made a video to show you guys how the Sensibio works. See? I really like it.)

(*Don’t forget to go back to Pt. 1 and enter to win a tube of Talika Lipocils Expert for yourself. And, did you read Pt. 2 of our Pretend French Vacay?)
