Makeup Wars: Holiday Wish List

For the Holidays, we are sharing our wishlists for this edition of “Makeup Wars”.

Now, I’m a horrible person to shop for – I’ve been told that time and time again. It’s true. If I want something, I go get it, or I don’t need it and don’t want to bother anyone to get it for me. So, if I’m going to make a wishlist, it’s going to include things that I would never buy myself, and are too costly for anyone to gift me with, so this really should be called my “If I win the lottery, I still may think these things are too expensive to buy, but I might buy them anyway because I just won the lottery after all” list. But “wishlist” is shorter. 😉

1. Robert Piguet ‘Fracas’ LE Parfum Set – $800

2. Bobbi Brown 2012 Holiday Trunk – $1000

3. Estee Lauder LE Celestial Charms Solid Perfume Compact – $295

4. Tom Ford 16 Color Nail Set – $480

5. Tom Ford Luxury Vanity Case – $1600

6. SK-II Pitera Inspiration Set – $1157

7. Make Up For Ever “Be Your Own Makeup Artist” Station – $950

What about you guys? Do you have a dream beauty product that is on your wishlist this year?

Don’t forget to check out what the other gals have on their wishlists this year, too:

Makeup Wars: Favorite Fall Polish

This edition of “Makeup Wars” is to show off our favorite fall polish, so I wanted to show you what I think is my favorite polish, which also happens to work in the fall.

I love me a grey polish – all shades and variations. Drugstore to department store. Local to international. If it’s grey, I need it. I can’t remember when it started, but I remember when my heart skipped a beat – it was when Sephora and OPI collaborated and introduced the amazing “Metro Chic”. This is what really started the “greige” rage and I was all in. This grey, purple-ish neutral stole my heart and that was that.

Some of the other grey’s that I grabbed for this pic are:

Maybelline Audacious Asphalt
Barry M NP293 Grey
NARS Storm Bird
Sally Hansen Gray By Gray
Some cute bottled grey from Asia
OCC Dangerous
Estee Lauder Wild Storm (discontinued)
Maybelline Silver Stunner (discontinued)

What is your favorite color to rock in the Fall?

And don’t forget to see what the favorite fall polishes of the other members of Makeup Wars is rocking this season:

Let’s Talk Bronzers!

Spring is here (*at least according to the calendar for some folks) and that means it’s time to shed our winter selves for our more undressed self. However, where some people love to go outside and bake their skins (*while wearing proper sunscreen protection, right? RIGHT?), I am *NOT* one of them. So I have to fake it with powders, creams and sprays. In this video I chat about some of this years product releases:

Are you guys sun bunnies or do you guys fake it like I do? What is your favorite bronzer? Lemme know.

Est̩e Lauder Holiday 2010 РWhat I wore at Christmas

You guys, I keep forgetting that I wanted to show you the pretty colors I wore for the family Christmas meal. For the Holiday season, Estée Lauder introduced the Limited Edition ‘Extravagant Pure Color’ Eyeshadow Palette in “Extravagant Gold”, along with its companion lippie, the ‘Pure Color’ lipstick in “Extravagant Berry”.

Now, the great thing about this palette is that while it may look very neutral, it is enhanced with golden flecks that makes these colors something special. I know I always want to dress up for special occasions, but rocking a dark smokey eye just wasn’t fitting for the family dinner. So, with the golden shimmers to warm up the colors, this bold neutral (oxymoron?) fit the bill. And with just a touch of the v pigmented lippie, I was set to throw down the dressing. (*What? It’s my favorite dish.).

Now, I know these were part of the Holiday 2010 collection, but I checked both esteelauder.com and nordstroms.com and they both still have the palette ($42) and lipstick ($22) in stock if you want to grab them – or check your local counter as they may still have some, too.
