My BFF brought me back this Skinfood “Lettuce & Cucumber Water Drop Essence” from Korea. This brand has been around since 1957 with their natural line of products based on fruits and vegetables, basically. It didn’t seem that odd to me, as I had used the Burt’s Bees Wild Lettuce Complexion Soap a few years ago, before it was discontinued. (*shakes fist impotently).

Anyway, this essence isn’t heavy enough to be a moisturizer, nor light enough to be a serum. It kind of reminds me of a primer, really. It’s good for really dry skin days, or after too much sun. It just seems to put more fluid in your skin to rehydrate, than to regularly moisturize, in my opinion. It has a really light scent and I keep it in the fridge so I get a cool shot of it when I apply it after a day outside.

Have you ever had a chance to try anything from Skinfood? Or even a product based on lettuce before?

Foreign Beauty Friday: Lancome G50 “Last Night” eyeshadow

*I am lucky enough to know people overseas that send me things. I also have friends and family that travel, so I harrass them make sure they bring me back goodies.

Funny story – The lovely Blogdorf Goodman got me lemming the cult eyeshadow “Erika F” that is not available here in the US. So when my BFF told me that she was going to France, I *knew* this was my opportunity to finally get my grubby hands on it.

So, I armed my friend with a picture of “Erika F” that I had thieved from Pink Sith as an easy reference tool, to help her find this beauty. Unfortunately, the watermark that Pink uses (*the helmet) confused the salesgirl, who thought that my BFF was looking for a limited edition product and that the helmet was part of the case! So, the closest thing they could come up with was the “G50 – Last Night” eyeshadow. Which, turns out, is a glorious grey shadow that I will get more use out of than that stupid olive/silver “Erika F” shadow that I would have just cherished and tucked away in a box, never to see the light of day again. (*she says justifying the fact that she will never have it after all, pouting all the day).

Foreign Beauty Friday: L’Occitane “Pivoine Flora” Eyeshadow Duo

Did you guys know that L’Occitane has color cosmetics? Yeah, me, either.

Apparently it has been a thing for a LONG time, but I’m in denial because we don’t have a stand alone store here and I’ve only ever seen the skin care. This pretty duo came to me via France and I love the way that the green has gold in it, while the peach is more matte. That makes for a good base to smudge the green on.

I don’t know if the colors are available in the US, as I don’t see it showing on their American website. Do you guys know? Have you seen it locally in your area of the US? And for my foreign lovelies – have you played with any of their color products over there?

So, I’m going to cheat this week. Instead of showing you a product from another country, I am going to share with you an article from Women’s Health that gives beauty secrets, and tips, from around the world.

I can definitely say that there were several tips that I had never considered doing before. (*Daisy rinse?). How about you? Have you tried any of these, or were some of these new to you, too?

Foreign Beauty Friday: Vov Color Song Eye Wave

*I am lucky enough to know people overseas that send me things. I also have friends and family that travel, so I harrass them make sure they bring me back goodies.

This weeks Foreign Beauty comes to us from Vov Cosmetics in Korea. This is the “Color Song Eye Wave”, in 4 – Dreaming Gray, Dreaming Gold, Dreaming Mocha and Dreaming Brown. Mine came with individual sponge applicators, but it looks like it now comes with one wide brush for sweeping application of all of the colors at the same time.

Have any of you ever heard of, or tried, the Color Song shadows?
