Backstage at the Badgley Mishka Fall/Winter 2012 show – Nails

This season I was able to go backstage the “Badgley Mischka” show and chat with Deborah Lippmann about the nails for the Fall/Winter 2012 show.

She said that the overall show was inspired by the movie “Metropolis”, so the look was very dark. So, they went with using a dark aubergine called “Dark Side of the Moon” for the base color, and for texture on the tips they used a gold called “Nefertiti”. She also gives a great tip to do your own french style manicure at home, too:

Backstage at the Joy Cioci Fall/Winter 2012 show – Nails

This season I was able to go backstage at the Joy Cioci show and talk to CND nail artist Candice Manacchio about the fishnet nails she did for the Joy Fall/Winter 2012 fashion show.

She put precut fishnet lace on top of nails painted with “Putty” and lined the edges with “Blackjack”.

Backstage at the Lela Rose Fall/Winter 2012 show – Nails

This season I was able to go backstage at “Lela Rose” and see what essie (and beauty.com) had in store for the look of the nails at the Fall/Winter 2012 fashion show.

According to manicurist Ana-Maria, the nails were oval and painted with “Case Study” for a more neutral look.

Just to wet your whistle…

Hi guys! I am back & trying to catch up and look back on everything that happened this last week. I just wanted to let you guys know that I a starting to upload some of my backstage videos to my YouTube page, if you want to get a look at what I was seeing before I post about them.

I had a chance to do and see so many things – I can’t wait to tell you about it all! icon smile Just to wet your whistle...

Kinda dumb about Rejuvacote

On twitter the other day, my good friend, Meredith from Retrodiva’s Beauty Bar, (@retrodiva) was complaining about her thin nails, after removing her acrylics. When I suggested she give Duri’s “Rejuvacote” a shot, I remembered that I hadn’t ever told you guys about this stuff.

 Kinda dumb about Rejuvacote

I’ll tell you, sometimes I am kinda dumb and don’t always follow the directions. Like, I have been known to not continue using something because it’s “good enough” or I just get lazy, results be damned. Such is the case with Rejuvacote Nail Growth System. I swear, I don’t know what it is (*truly, I don’t) but my thumb nails split. As in, I can press another fingernail in between the layers (*of which I surely DON’T do – nuh uh). I can’t understand why those particular fingernails split, but none of my other ones do. I was luckily able to have a chance to try some Rejuvacote to help with that. It’s recommended to use as your base coat/top coat and every night for a week then start all over again.

Yeah, I haven’t usually had the attention span to keep up with that sched, BUT, I can tell you that when I do use it – it stops the splitting. Done. Which is where my dumbness comes in, because that is where I usually go “Okay, cool, problem solved” and then stop. That then allows the nails to split again and there we are back on the merry-go-round.

Don’t be me. If you have splitting or thin nails, you should really try Rejuvacote (*which contains keratin and calcium, btw) and stick with their rec’s for application. I really think it will make a difference to your nails. I’m not the only one that thinks that, as it has been mentioned in many magazines and even won an Allure “Best of Beauty” award, too. It runs $14 and can be picked up on Duri’s website.

Have you guys tried this? And did you keep to their rec’d schedule in using it? I’m curious how your nails fared using it the “proper” way.
