I’m about to get my rave on, but let’s get the downsides out of the way first, so you decide if you want to find out why I’m willing to overlook these things and still rec this product:
- It’s expensive – straight up, it’s $175 for a 30mL/1oz bottle.
- It’s in a dark glass bottle so you can’t see how much you have left.
- It has a “yeasty” type odor that some may find unpleasant.
Okay – now that we’ve got that out of the way, lemme tell you why I’m over the moon about this serum.
We all know I test *a lot* of skincare products, ranging from drugstore to high-end, looking for products that can make a difference. Some just feel really good and don’t do anything except empty your wallet & some smell good, while not breaking the bank – the thing that those type products have in common is that they don’t usually show visible results on me. I can measure that in a couple of ways – as I don’t drink enough water so my skin gets dry/flaky and as I’ve gotten older, I have red/ruddiness to deal with. If it can affect those factors, then I know there might be something to it.
Immunocologie cut my redness down by, I’d guess, 40% in the first *3* days of use. Let me repeat that: 40% less redness in *3* days! Now, I am not personally a clinical trial, just a gal that uses products, and not even exactly as directed because I’m lazy. We know this. So, even after using it by putting 2-3 drops of the milky liquid on my face 1 or 2 times a day for a few days, I still saw a *noticeable* difference. I was sincerely shocked, as it normally takes weeks to see any kind of change. I really didn’t know how it worked, at first, as I didn’t understand what the “Bioferm Process” was (*to be honest, I’m still not 100% certain) – I thought maybe it was restricting the capillaries somehow. But, apparently, there are anti-inflammatory properties in the serum, that due to the fermentation process of the ingredients, gets absorbed into the skin easier. I can see how this would help relieve my redness.
Now, this serum is also meant to smooth fine lines and wrinkles, brighten the skin and help prevent the formation of damaging radicals that can harm the skin. In fact, it doesn’t even mention that it will help redness, but that is the result that I have seen while using this serum. I have continued using this, and my redness has continued to diminish, and my skin has become brighter. As for the scent, I would say that the yeasty type smell is a result of the fermentation. It goes away quickly and as we all know, scent does not have a direct correlation with efficacy. Just because it smells good doesn’t mean it works, that’s for sure!
And, yes, it’s definitely expensive, but in this case, I have to say that I actually saw tangible results and think it would be worth the splurge if you have been having the same kind of challenge & can’t find anything to relieve your skin, besides just continuing to layer on the concealer. Now, the bottle is dark to preserve the contents, not to hide the amount left, but I will say, only using 2-3 drops at a time will make this bottle last quite a while. I’ve been using it pretty much daily for the last couple of months and I bet I still have over half a bottle left.
So. what say you? Are you willing to spend more for skincare? Do you have a top amount you won’t cross? Or do you think all price ranges give the same results? Let me know – I’m curious what you think.
