*Partnered Post* Hair How-To: How to Use Hot Rollers

Do any of you guys ever use hot rollers? I remember growing up and thinking that I couldn’t wait to get big enough to use those things. And then when I *did* get older and try to use them, because I hadn’t had any practice, I constantly was burning myself or something, so I gave’em up.

Well, now that I am more “mature”, I don’t hurt myself anymore when I use them. But, I don’t always use them very well. I’m from the middle of the country where the motto is generally “The higher the hair, the closer to God”, meaning, we like our big hair. Now, I can get big poofy curls with the rollers, but it isn’t always “styled” right.

Anyway, when I was watching the BlogHer hair videos, I came across this hot rollers tutorial that I thought might help me figure out what I was doing incorrectly.

*Partnered Post* Hair How-To: Sexy Loose Bun

Now that my hair is getting longer again, I have got to come up with some different ways to wear my hair up besides my daily ponytail. I was watching some of the BlogHer hair videos and saw this one and thought it might be easy enough, even for me:

*Partnered Post* New Year, New You with Imedeen®

imedeen eye With the new year, it seems to be a time for everyone to reflect on changes that they want to do to improve their life – both physically and mentally. For example, I am trying to “Be Better” about myself.

So far that has resulted getting started with two consultations for foundation matching (*more on that later). I also made it out to a meetup to get social with other local bloggers. You might be surprised how many of us there actually are – I know I am. This also means continuing things that I had started at the tail end of last year – upping my skin care game by still using the Imedeen® Anti-Aging supplements that I told you about last month.

*Sponsored Post* Dove Nourishing Oil Conditioner

Since I color my hair, I have to fight the dryness, and the heat of the summer didn’t help anything. One of the things that I have found that works for my hair is to coat it in oil when I get out of the shower. And now I’m adding another way to put oil on my hair – while I’m *in* the shower – Dove Nourishing Oil Care Conditioner.

*Sponsored Post* Dove Softening Body Wash

Life gets crazy – lord knows I don’t hardly take any time for myself. Heck, I feel like I race myself each day to see just how fast I can get out of the shower. Pole Position! Yay! But, I can’t keep up that pace and still keep up my general well-being, and I know my skin takes a beating. So, once in a while I will gather up my things and have a mini-spa party and just have some “me time”.

This is the time when I slow down, and use products that feel good and make my body feel soft: a good face mask, a deep conditioning hair treatment – whatever I can do to just rejuvenate myself. So when I was asked to try Dove VisibleCare® Softening Creme Body Wash, I thought I would see if it would make a difference. It’s supposed to give me “Visibly more beautiful skin from a body wash”, so I gave it a shot. I’ve been using it for a while now and, after the first week, my summer parched legs were actually smoother and softer, not flaky like they were before. They say that “It contains the highest concentration of NutriumMoisture technology across the Dove portfolio”, which makes sense since you can just see that it is thicker and feels more emollient than some of the other body washes I have in the shower.

I will say that because it is a richer formula I don’t know that I will use it every day during the warm summer months. I prefer a light wash that rinses away almost as quickly as my sweat. Of course, that may also have something to do with my skin being drier, too. Circle of life, eh? *cue up “Lion King” soundtrack*.

Anyway, Dove has a couple of things going on that might interest you. First, they are offering a coupon if you would like to try this line (*which also includes a Toning and Renewing body wash, neither of which I have had a chance to try). Visit Dove® VisibleCare® to get a coupon for $1 off! And, second, they are also holding a sweepstakes for *2* $500 SpaFinder gift certificates so you could have a chance to have your own “me time”. All the details are down below.

So, what do you do for some “me time”? Or are you going to tell me that you are too busy for any of that nonsense? 😉
